Executive Producer: Michael Brzezinski
Looking at where this project is going, I can’t help but love to see the journey unfold. Year in Captivity started as a simple idea for a script that we started among friends. Now that it is becoming a reality, I am passionate in the success for the film and want to share it with people worldwide. I am beyond excited to bring in such a fantastic crew that are now a part of this amazing project. When it comes to me, I have been in the film world for about a year as an actor in the United Kingdom. However, being in the film industry has been in my heart for most of my life. As I see the auditions come in, I know in my heart this film will be special. So I look forward to seeing the immense amount of talent each person can bring to the table in the upcoming auditions and I wish everyone who auditions the best of luck.

This is an opportunity that I couldn't miss, a great story and passionate people behind it. I am proud to be at the helm as director, I can't wait to get into casting and filming a fantastic production. A little bit about me, I graduated with a BA Hons in Film and TV Production from the University Of Hertfordshire in 2013. Since then I have worked in an animation company, and joined forces with organisation KatsAct to write, film and edit actors showreels, whilst also delving into promos for companies. KatsAct are also coming on board to be film crew in this production, which will be very exciting for the members, old and new. I am a true supporter of young, new and diverse talent. I can't wait to meet you all, over this journey and make magic - especially making dreary ol' Britain look like the sparse deserted Syria. Ta-ta for now!

It has been a great experience to be the co-writer for Year in Captivity. I went from interested in the project to loving it simply by researching the people and various tragedies that have been caused by ISIS. It made me aware of what really happens to these people and how their lives are affected each and every day. I really just wanted to spread awareness by being a part of something that can be displayed through film the pain and torture so many people go through. Bringing the characters to life and putting them into that kind of world was quite the challenge. However, I feel that their story will be a powerful one. For my own background, I have performed primarily on stage with some television experience as well. I also have been in quite a few short films and I am currently a member of the National Youth Film Academy. In the upcoming auditions I hope to see people as passionate about the project as I am. I look forward to seeing everyone audition!

It is an honour to co-write and to be part of such an amazing project with an amazing team. I have truly enjoyed getting to know the characters as we follow each and every one of them on their journey through a nightmare revolving around a subject which is unfortunately very real and current, which some people face every single day. I hope this film raises awareness and I hope people fall in love with the characters the same way I have. I look forward to the rest of our journey working on this film. I am currently in my second year of training In Musical theatre at Scene II Performing Arts Academy and through this project I have developed a deeper love and appreciation for script writing which I hope to do more of in the future.
